Displaying certain event types in a calendar view

How do I display just one (or more) particular event type/s in a calendar view (not using the planner view)?

    Regards

    Hi Hilary,

You need to manually link to the calendar page and pass in the event type id, eg:

    Calender.aspx?View=General&typ=263

To find out the event type id,

Go into Admin Tools > Lookup Tables > Event Type,

Edit the required event type and look for LookupID=263 in the url.

    Thanks

    Paul

    Thanks Paul,
Is there a way to display more than one event type?

    This doesn't seem to work.

    http://swahs.elcom.com.au/Calender.aspx?View=General&typ=244

If you click on "Next Month" or "Last Month" you get the error "Please select at least one event type"

    Hi Hilary,

The error message you are experiencing above was a bug that was reported and fixed in release 6.4. What you need to do is go to the Global Site Settings page and make sure that the following checkbox is NOT checked:

    Event Rules:

Event types for filtering must be hidden on the calendar page

What should then happen is that if you don't pass an event type in the querystring (eg. typ=244) then it will show all the event types and the user can filter for the event types that they want. If you do pass an event type in the querystring then it won't show all the event types and the Prev/Next buttons will work correctly (ie. it will hopefully bypass the bug you are experiencing).

    Regards,

    Tracey.

    Hi Tracey,

That check box is NOT checked on our system, but I am still getting that error.

    Hi,

Then until you upgrade to 6.4 you'll have to just stick with the option of displaying all the event types on the calendar page and allowing the user to filter for what they want (ie. don't pass the querystring into the page).

The other option you have is to drop an event quick search element into an article. This will show you a mini calendar and also allow you to lockdown by event type. Helpdesk can guide you through setting this up if you want.

    Tracey.

    Hi Tracey,

Thanks for that. We will have to wait for the new version.
