The system then shows me as the convener. We want another name there. Is it possible to change this?
ANSWER
Yes you can
Go to Maintain Events
Search for the Event
Select Event & Click on Edit
Scroll down to Event Conveners and select the name you would like
Click Save

Also, how do I get rid of event type? Or change its value?
ANSWER
Event Type is a mandatory field you cant get rid of it
You can add new event types
Go to Dashboard > Admin Tools > Lookup Tables
Select Lookup: "Event Type"
Click Add
Complete details and click on Save.

Finally, I would like the discounted member cost to apply to anyone who is a pensioner or student.
They need to pay offline as we need to see their seniors/ student card.
Is there a way to deal with this?
ANSWER
The only way to apply different costs is to do it by security groups ie. you can set that if a user belongs to a security group then they can get the discounted rate.
But this would only work for them if all pensioners/students have a login (which I doubt), and also there is no way to force them to pay offline.
