    Hi Hilary,

I have passed this onto the development team and they will get back to you.

    Thanks

Regarding the API module, this is a new module we are releasing as part of CM6 (it will be an update in the Sprint release, since it wasn't quite ready for this release).

It provides a DLL that you can call into via external code. At this stage 'your' code needs to sit on the same server as CM (ie it is not exposed as a web service or remote calls) and provides access to a growing list of content types.

The first release includes the following base functions:

    - authentication

    - folder functions (select, create, update, delete)

    - article functions (select, create, update, delete)

Later releases will add docuements, events, polls, forms, etc.

We've been testing this release internally but haven't released it officially yet. We expect to make this available in our October release.

Note: in our next Sprint we are also revamping our existing web services module, so that pulling content from CM will be much easier. Push however will still be limited.

The Flash/XML module is a simple extension that allows CM content to be exported in XML for easy import into Flash based content items. (The Flash items can be external to CM ie they don't need to be in CM)

The module will accept calls from Flash (eg user to authenticate and articles to return) and return the content in XML.

We wrote this module years ago and had it working well on a high profile Microsoft microsite.

If you are interested in using it/evaluating it please contact me or your Account manager and we'll configure it for you. Depending on your version of Flash we may have to make a few tweaks for any recent changes.

    Thanks for that Craig,

What / where is your existing web services module?

I don't see any mention of that on your modules page?

    Regards
    Hilary

    Hi Hilary,

Yes, it has been left off deliberately for now. The web service module has been used in previous projects, but needs some 'refreshing'. Once complete then we will be making it available again.

    Regards,

    Craig
